anything can happen

"They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened" (Mark 6:51b-52)
The disciples witnessed about 10,000 people get fed with just five loaves of bread, but still didn't understand. Many of us don't understand this account either, taking it as some little morality tale about sharing. But the feeding account has nothing to do with sharing and everything to do with who Christ is. In Christ, our preconceptions about "possible" and "impossible" are shattered. When the Kingdom comes, anything can happen. No sin is unforgivable. No chains are unremovable. No difficulty is insurmountable. The King can walk on water. Surely he can save us.
